WHAT IS AN EPILATOR?
An epilator is an electrical device used to remove hair by mechanically grasping multiple hairs simultaneously and pulling them out. The way in which epilators pull out hair is similar to waxing, although unlike waxing, they do not remove cells from the epithelium of the epidermis. Aside from the spring in early spring-type epilators, there are no parts in epilators that require regular replacement. Epilators come in corded, rechargeable and battery operated designs.
Epilation can be painful to some people because, as with waxing, it involves pulling hair out of the roots. Because of the pain involved being particularly bad on the first epilation of an area, some people prefer to have the area professionally waxed first, then use epilation to remove regrowth.

| When you buy an Epilator, these are some of the stuff you get in your Epilator Box. |
The one that I currently own is the Philips Satinelle Soft Epilator. I some how convinced my Father to get this for me few years back. During that time (2-3years back) there was no Youtube (In my world) or no knowledge for doing a Google search for reviews. So no one was there to guide me through this hair removal machine! At that time I used it once and after that I never used it again! But then recently, last year I took it out from storage and tried it again.
DOES IT HURT?
YES! It hurts a lot!! but its a one time thing for starters. For those of you who experienced waxing on their arms and legs, remember the first time you ever got it waxed? The pain is kind of similar to that. Loads of Beauty Gurus on YouTube reviewed Epilator and till now they all said the same thing,
"First time it was very painful."
But you know what? Just like waxing, you get used to the pain. That's the same with Epilator. The pain gradually downs down when you continue Epilating whenever the hair grows back.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE HORROR STORIES I HAVE HEARD ABOUT THE INGROWN HAIR?
Yes, its true that there are chances for ingrown hair to occur and that is why it is important to exfoliate the body to avoid the chances of getting ingrown hair. All you need is this:
A loofa is all you need. Before epilating, you need to exfoliate that part of the body which you need to epilate. And continue your baths everyday with a loofa and your choice of shower gels and you will notice less chances of ingrown hair! ^_^.
These days Epilators come with rechargeable batteries and water proof epilators. The one that I currently own is an old version which is not a cordless one. This is used directly connected to a power. Which I don't mind since it works great ^_^.
Epilator has loads of tiny tweezers which plucks the hair from the roots. The machine makes a scary sound when its on. But I am used to that now. As human beings we get used to curtain things.
As you can see, the skin looks hair less after epilating it.
You can use the epilator on your Arms,Legs, underarms and bikini area.
I wouldn't suggest you to use the epilator on your bikini area. I tried it and oh God, I would suggest you to go for wax for the bikini area but not this machine! lol.
The great thing is that you save a load of money by not going for the usual waxing in your local parlor. After the whole epilating, the next time I needed to epilate was after 2-3 weeks! Plus, its great for traveling! And no, the hair doesn't grow back all hard because this machine plucks the hair from it's roots just like waxing ^_^.
WHERE CAN I BUY IT FROM?
Well, its available everywhere. I have seen it in malls and online stores. I would suggest you to check out
www.flipkart.com
prices range from Rs.1200 to Rs.8000.
In the end, IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?
YES!
