Ever since I colored my hair to REVLON's Color Silk in 5G Light Golden Brown, I have been craving to color my hair back to dark brown/black color. Seriously, I have commitment issues! lol. Total two weeks of light brown hair. I was very close to buying the REVLON's Color Silk hair dye in black shade but then I changed my mind and thought why not give LOREAL PARIS's New EXCELLENCE Creame a try.
Of course, I was kind of hesitant to pay Rs.549/- when Black color in REVLON was easily available for Rs.320/- but some how in the end I convinced myself that I am doing this for myself and will write a blog review as well, killing two birds with one stone!
THE PACKAGING:
As you can see from the picture above, you get a lot of product in here. One thing I liked was the amount of product you receive because a person like me with long hair, I felt like I needed two boxes of REVLON's hair dye for one application but with this I did not feel the need to. In the instructions it tells you step by step what what product to use for what.
PROCESS:
FIRST STEP was the Protective Serum to be applied on parts of the hair which is more pron to damage. I applied mostly on the ends of my hair and the middle and so on. Not to be applied on the roots of the hair. Apply it on dry hair and let it stay there for few minutes and then apply the hair dye.
The hair dye in 1 BLACK
I really like the quality of these gloves but then in the end the whole application was messy lol.
three application worth of conditioner. I liked how this conditioner smelled. I find this bottle of tiny size of conditioner which comes in the LOREAL hair dye kits very cute and attractive looking. In fact I am loving the whole packaging of this New Excellence Cream Hair Dye line by LOREAL! The Pink and White combination.

MY THOUGHTS:
After photo of me without make up, hair all black as a Japanese Geisha LOL. I know know, "Black?! Oh so boring color!!" but seriously boring can be the most exciting thing for that particular person lol.
The whole process of applying hair color at home is such a messy process that sometimes you wonder if you should have taken the color to the salon and get it over with.
While doing the whole process at home, I noticed that this LOREAL's New Excellence Cream smelled of chemical scent so much that you have to be very careful to not inhale it so much. While the hair dye was busy coloring the whole part of my hair, I just randomly Googled 'Loreal Hair Dye Review' and few results were very scary. Filled with Chemical burns to horrible stories of some folks using the LOREAL's hair dye and getting bad reaction from it. Well it is not entirely the brand's fault. They have put warnings in their boxes of doing a patch test and wait for 24 hours before using their hair dye.
In my case, I ignored the patch test so while I washed my hair and used the conditioner it was provided with and my hair was tied up in a towel. I was freaking out by then think "Oh God, I haven't done a patch test and what if...." but touch wood, so far no sort of bad reaction. But I won't gamble with this, will surely do a patch test whenever I thinking of dying the color of my hair again.
But what about the result? I have noticed a different in this brand of hair dye that when my hair dried, it looked more shinier then the REVLON's one and soft and silky. So if you don't mind the harsh chemical smell that it comes with this then sure, I'd recommend this if you don't mind the whole ingredients filled with loads of chemicals lol.
So what do you think?
Have you tried this brand of hair dye?
